Development and Exploitation of Energy Resources in South Hamgyong Province
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- South Hamgyong Province in the DPRK is creating a new generating capacity by exploiting various energy resources.
In contact with researchers of Kim Il Sung University, the province is building solar and wind power stations in the places favorable for the use of natural energies. It is solving scientific and technical problems arising in building and operating the power stations.
And it is taking measures to lay material and technical foundation of the newly-organized provincial natural energy electric power technology development station.
The technicians of the station have solved technical problems arising in operating solar power station built on the bank of the Songchon River in Hamhung City and the small-scale solar power stations set up in the compound of the provincial sci-tech library and in Hungnam District.
The province is establishing at the final stage the mixed power generation system based on hydropower, solar and wind power at the Hamhung Youth Power Station No. 1.
It is raising public interest in the use of natural energies by introducing the solar electric power production system into non-productive units.
It is introducing the pumping systems running by solar energy into the newly-built rural dwellings in cities and counties. -0-
