FM, His Greek Counterpart Discuss Ways to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation and Development Relations Between the Two Countries

Baghdad /NINA/-Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with his Greek counterpart, Georgios Gerapetritis, to discuss bilateral relations.

The Ministry stated in a press release: "During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them in various fields were discussed."

Hussein welcomed the resumption of direct flights to Baghdad, emphasizing that it will contribute to strengthening social ties and boosting economic and tourism exchange between the two countries.

He also indicated Iraq's desire to expand cooperation and exchange expertise with Greece in the field of water management.

 For his part, Georgios Gerapetritis emphasized the importance of relations between the two countries and their historical roots, extending an invitation to Fuad Hussein to attend the Ancient Civilizations Forum scheduled to be held in Greece.

The Greek minister announced that Greek Airlines intends to operate direct flights between Athens and Baghdad starting next December, expressing his country's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in the fields of economy, trade, and education, including offering scholarships to Iraqi students. He also noted the desire of Greek companies to cooperate in the field of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals./ End
