Increased Production at Large-scale Greenhouse Farms in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- Large-scale greenhouse vegetable production bases in the DPRK are increasing output and varieties.
The Kangdong Greenhouse Complex, in contact with research institutes, takes measures to reduce the cost of production and increase the output per unit area.
The complex has conducted filtering, disinfection and addition of nutrient elements for the recovered nutrient solution in a scientific and technological way in order to increase the rate of reusing nutrient solution and thus provided a guarantee to raise the production at less cost than before.
The Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm works hard to put vegetable production on a modern, intensive and industrial basis of a higher level.
The farm is cultivating green crops, monitoring harmful insects, effectively using greenhouse space and managing plants and thus harvesting tens of tons of vegetables every day.
The Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm introduced dozens of varieties of vegetables including legume and balsam pear this year alone to increase the functional vegetable varieties favoured by the people.
The farm increases the area for cultivating functional vegetables while acclimatizing new varieties of vegetables to suit the climatic conditions of the region. -0-
