Train Service Resume in Southern Thailand after Blast

NARATHIWAT, Oct 28 (TNA) - Rail services on Thailand's southern line resumed Tuesday after crews quickly repaired damage from a bomb blast near Marubo station in Narathiwat province on Monday, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said.
The explosion damaged a switch point. SRT immediately replaced damaged concrete track sleepers and filled the crater, allowing traffic to flow again.
A local resident welcomed the resumption of service, noting that the incident had made travelling difficult. Security personnel are now guarding the station.

Security forces believe an insurgent group, led by Abdulloh Maming was behind the attack. He faces two outstanding warrants, including for the theft of a pickup truck used in a separate raid on a construction materials store in March 2024.
SRT has ordered staff to closely monitor the situation and is visiting the two injured victims, both military personnel on security duty in the area. -819 (TNA)
