Shura Council Sec Gen participates in Association of Secretaries General of Arab Parliaments meeting in Geneva

Geneva, Oct. 20 (BNA): Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, participated in the 45th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments, held in Geneva on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) 151st Assembly.

The meeting, chaired by Mohammed Al Mutairi, Secretary General of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, discussed updates on the association’s work, preparations for its 11th annual meeting, and proposed amendments to its internal regulations submitted by several Arab parliaments, including Bahrain’s.

Al Abbasi highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to modernise parliamentary systems, adopt digital transformation and AI applications, and promote cooperation among Arab parliamentary secretariats to enhance legislative and institutional performance.

She was elected earlier this year as a member of the Association’s Executive Committee during its 45th general meeting held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
