Thermoplastic production begins in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept 26, 2025. /Kabar/. A plant producing thermoplastic used for road markings has begun operations in Kyrgyzstan for the first time, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications reports.
According to the ministry, the State company "Production and Innovation Center" signed partnership agreement with Vokko LLC. As part of this collaboration, a 1,000 m² brick building located in the Sokuluk district was provided as a production base.
The plant is currently fully equipped: two mills for crushing the necessary mineral materials (dolomite is used), modern production lines, and a laboratory that meets quality standards have been installed.
Launch of the plant will allow to supply the domestic market and explore export opportunities in the future. Previously, thermoplastics were entirely dependent on imports, but now they will be produced domestically, which will reduce logistics costs and improve the quality of road markings.
The thermoplastic produced at this plant is of high quality and comes with a one-year warranty and a three-year service life. Furthermore, the products are delivered directly to roads under construction within the country, providing significant price and quality advantages. Affordable thermoplastic is widely used in road construction, improving traffic conditions and contributing to increased road safety, the ministry reports.
The Ministry of Transport noted that this project is of strategic importance for the infrastructure development of the Kyrgyz Republic and is being implemented to support public-private partnerships and local production, create new jobs, and improve road safety.
