Saudi Students Achieve Impressive Success in International Olympiads

Riyadh, September 22, 2025, SPA -- Saudi scientific teams are experiencing a remarkable season in 2025, participating in 26 international Olympiads hosted by 23 countries, with competitors representing over 120 nations. The contests span a broad range of disciplines, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, AI, nuclear science, astronomy and astrophysics, and standards and specifications.
From April to mid-September, Saudi students have won 91 international awards, comprising five gold, 22 silver, 40 bronze medals, and 24 certificates of appreciation.
The Kingdom ranked first among Arab countries, reinforcing its rising profile in global scientific arenas.
This success is the result of a comprehensive national framework for identifying, nurturing, and empowering gifted students. This effort is led by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, through the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, which will continue until November.
The program aims to equip students in general education with the skills and support needed to compete internationally, enhance the Kingdom’s presence in global scientific forums, and promote a culture of excellence, critical thinking, and innovation.
As of mid-September 2025, Saudi Arabia’s cumulative achievements in international Olympiads have reached an impressive 795 international awards—a reflection of the growing competitiveness and distinction of the Kingdom’s students on the global stage.
