Foreign Minister holds call with Turkmen counterpart

Manama, June 17 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone call with Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The ministers discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and means to coordinate efforts to repatriate Bahraini citizens currently in Iran through Turkmenistan in preparation for their return to Bahrain.

Minister Meredov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to facilitate the transit and safe passage of Bahraini citizens from Iran, ensure their well-being, and support their onward travel to Bahrain.

On his part, Dr. Al Zayani thanked the Turkmen Foreign Minister for his support in facilitating the transit of Bahraini citizens, describing it as a testament to the strength of bilateral ties. He extended his best wishes for Turkmenistan’s continued security and prosperity.
