Turkish Consul General In Erbil: Turkish Companies Implementing Projects Worth $35 Billion In Iraq

Baghdad / NINA /- Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Erman Topcu, announced that Turkish companies have implemented projects worth $35 billion across Iraq to date.

In a speech during a meeting between a Turkish trade delegation and Iraqi businessmen today in Erbil Governorate, Topcu said: "The Turkish private sector has been providing significant support to the development of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq for more than 40 years."

He pointed out that the activities of the Turkish private sector in Iraq and its contributions to development projects have opened the door to strengthening relations between the two countries, stressing that Turkish exports to Iraq in 2024 exceeded $13 billion, while the volume of trade exchange reached $18 billion.

Topcu explained: "Turkish businessmen operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Erbil in particular, have played a major role in this achievement."

He added: "Throughout Iraq, our companies have implemented projects worth $35 billion to date. This number places Iraq third in the world and first in the Middle East in terms of the volume of Turkish investments."/ End
