HM King congratulates President of Syria

Manama, May 13 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to His Excellency Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

His Majesty the King congratulated HE President Al Sharaa and the Syrian people following the announcement by His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, to lift economic sanctions on Syria, in response to the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  

HM the King welcomed the decision, describing it as a positive step towards supporting Syria during this pivotal phase in its modern history. HM the King emphasised that the initiative would significantly support HE President Al Sharaa’s efforts to achieve security, stability, and prosperity, and to fulfil the aspirations of the Syrian people for development and progress. HM the King wished HE the Syrian President continued success.
