The President Meets The Saudi Ambassador And Stresses The Need To Work To Stop The Aggression Against The Palestinian People

Baghdad /NINA/ -President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the need to work to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people.

The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement: "The President met today at Baghdad Palace with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari."

The statement added: "During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to develop them. The President stressed the importance of expanding the horizons of joint cooperation between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples."

The statement explained that the two sides discussed developments in the political and security situations in the region. The President also stressed the need to work to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people, support their legitimate cause, and ensure the protection of civilians.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador praised Iraq's efforts to consolidate the foundations of peace in the region, stressing the Kingdom's keenness to maintain bilateral cooperation to serve the security, stability, and prosperity of both countries./End
