Palestinian official hails Islamic Revolution on anniversary

Ramallah, Feb 12, IRNA - Secretary-General of Palestine's Fatah Movement Abu Hazim on Thursday congratulated Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani on the 36th victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. Sending separate messages to Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani, Abu Hazim also wished dignity and prosperity for the Iranian nation and government. He said that the Palestinian nation would appreciate Tehran's support for the cause of Palestine. Millions of the Iranians took to the streets nationwide on February 11 to mark the 36th anniversary of the Islamic revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime. Huge rallies were staged in the capital Tehran and other Iranian cities to celebrate the occassion. Similar ceremonies were held by Iranians residing in other countries on the birth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
