Biogas accident kills five in Thailand
BANGKOK, May 27 (TNA) - Five repair workers were found dead inside a biogas well early Sunday in northwestern Thailand after their attempt to patch a leaking valve.
Police said the servicemen had died from a lack of oxygen during their maintenance run in Pak Tho District of Ratchaburi Province.
For the time being, a probe had been commissioned to find out the cause of the accident, and also whether the electricity generating facility under construction was built legally. According to police, the plant had been applying for a business license from the Energy Ministry.
In another development, park officials of Khao Khor National Park in Phetchabun province rescued three tourists who were trapped in the middle of Tharn Tip Waterfall in Lom Sak district on Sunday.
The tourists were stranded following flash floods in the area that resulted from nearly two hours of heavy rainfall. (TNA)
