CHP chairman: France denies itself with bill adopted at senate

ANKARA (A.A) - January 24, 2012 - The Turkish main opposition party chairman said on Tuesday that France denied itself with adoption of the bill that criminalizes the denial of Armenian allegations about 1915 incidents during Ottoman period. "With this bill, France lost its chance to say we defend freedom and there is freedom of expression in France," Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu said at his party's group meeting. "We give the government a blank check on this matter. If the government pursues a consistent and sound policy, CHP will support the government in its all decisions," he said. France denied its own history with adoption of this bill, he said. He calls French people and intellectuals to correct this mistake.
