UN Has Selective Approach Towards HR: MP

Tehran, December 23, IRNA – The spokesman for Majlis Judicial and Legal Commission on Saturday described the UN human rights resolution against Iran as illegal and unlawful and said that UN has a selective and impartial approach towards the issue of human rights. Talking to IRNA, Mohammad Ali Esfanani added that the issuance of such resolutions against Iran serves as a tool in the hands of the West to pile pressure on Iran. The UN remains silent when it sees the massacre of Muslims in Bahrain, Syria and Myanmar but it shows reaction to a baseless report, he said. "Why the UN did nothing when the US, Britain and Canada de-listed the most terrorist people?" he wondered, noting that the US issues resolution when it comes to its interests. Therefore, the resolutions should not be taken seriously. UN General Assembly issued a resolution against Iran on December 20, condemning what it called violation of human rights in Iran./end
