Putin to discuss Russia’s possible help to Venezuela with its president - Kremlin
MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russia will discuss with Venezuela possible help to this country, but it is too early to name any specific sum, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The situation in the economic sphere [in Venezuela] remains difficult, though some moderate signs of improvement can be observed. In light of this, the discussion will focus on the help that Venezuela’s authorities need," the Kremlin spokesman told reporters. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro came to Moscow for this purpose, he said. His negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, he added. "It all [Russia’s help to Venezuela] will be discussed at today’s meeting.
Peskov did not answer the question about the amount of support. "No details, let’s wait for the negotiations," he suggested.
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters earlier that the issue of providing additional help to Venezuela by Russia may be raised at the upcoming negotiations between the two leaders. "The Venezuelan side is receiving practical help on a regular basis. The issue [of providing help] will be surely raised this time as well," Ushakov said.
