9 Militants, 3 Soldiers Killed In Clashes In NW Pakistan

Islamabad, May 11, IRNA – At least nine militants were killed and 8 others injured in retaliatory action by the security forces in Pakistan’s north western Kurram tribal region on Friday, local media reported. Three security personnel were also killed when militants attacked the security check-post. Later, high-ranked security officials reached the site of attack and were analyzing the situation. Kurram is one of seven districts in Pakistan’s semi-autonomous tribal belt, where Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants have carved out strongholds./end
