Turkey's Besiktas to sign L.A. Lakers' Odom

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 25, 2011 - Besiktas basketball team of Turkey will sign Los Angeles Lakers' Lamar Odom. Besiktas trainer Ergin Ataman said on Thursday that the team was about to sign an agreement with Lakers' forward Odom. Odom played in World Basketball Championship in 2010 which was hosted by Turkey.  As lockout continues in NBA, Odom would be the third player Besiktas transferred from NBA. The work stoppage in NBA began on July 1, 2011. During the lockout, teams cannot trade, sign or contact players and players cannot access NBA team facilities, trainers or staffs. All preseason games and the first six weeks of the 2011–12 season through December 15, 2011, have already been canceled. The lockout will remain in effect until the National Basketball Trade Association (NBTA) reaches a deal with the NBA owners.
