Tour Guides In Gunung Kidul Receive English Language Training

GUNUNG KIDUL, Yogyakarta, April 18 (Antara) - Tour guides in the Emas Plumbungan Village in Kidul District, Yogyakarta, are receiving English language training, as foreign tourists continue to visit the area, local Travel Awareness Group Chairman Andri Purwanto remarked here, Monday. He said several local and foreign tourists always visit the Emas Plumbungan Village to enjoy the natural beauty and local culinary delights. However, sometimes, the local people and tour guides face a language barrier while communicating with the tourists, and hence, English language training is being imparted to them. "The tourism sector in Gunung Kidul is thriving, and it must be anticipated by providing English language training, so that the tour guides can serve the tourists well," Purwanto explained. According to Purwanto, the local people and youth in the Emas Plumbungan Village are being given English language training every evening. "With such training, they are expected to be able to highlight the positive aspects of their village to the foreign tourists," Purwanto noted, adding that the local people who have been managing the tourist destination are quite enthusiastic about taking English lessons.
