Thailand’s higher education system ranked 8th in Asia

BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) - Thailand’s higher education system has been ranked the eighth in Asia and the 41st in the world; while neighbouring Singapore in the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been ranked top on the Asian list. The latest ranking, publicly announced on Thursday, was conducted by the leading global network of research on universities for the 21st century, or Universitas 21, in which Thailand is scored 46.6 for its 8th and 41st positions in Asia and in the world on the 48-nation best higher education providers list. The ranking was considered from resources, environment, connectivity and output of each country’s higher education system. Securing the position of the best higher education provider on the latest Universitas 21 Ranking of higher education systems is the United States, scored a full mark of 100; while Singapore is scored 74.5 out of 100 for its top rank in Asia and 11th on the world list. Other countries which have also been ranked at the top of this year's list include Sweden, Canada, Finland and Denmark. (TNA)
