Thai students bag medals at AITMO

BANGKOK, November 22 (TNA) - Thai students have won 10 golds at the 2011 Asian Inter-Cities Teenagers' Math Olympiad (AITMO), held in Nepal this week. The 16 young math Thai talents have also bagged home 11 silvers and three bronzes, bringing them the second place in the final rankings of the competition, taking place at Malfi International School in Panauti Town, located 32 kilometres southeast of Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, from November 12-19. The eight-day pre-high school-level competition kicked off with a student parade at a main business district in Kathmandu amid a cheery crowd of locals and tourists. The 134 student representatives from 13 countries, including Thailand, were then divided into 34 contestant teams. (TNA)
