Iraqi president hails Iran’s support during wartime days

Baghdad, Dec 15, IRNA – Iraqi President Barham Salih, who was speaking during a ceremony on Saturday marking Iraq’s hard-won victory over Daesh terrorist group, thanked Iran's support for Baghdad over the three year-long war Salih hailed Iran’s role as a neighboring, friendly and allied country. He also appreciated the stands of Iraqi religious leaders, the efforts by the country’s armed forces and Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in bringing about this victory for the Iraqi nation. On Dec 10 last year, the then Iraqi prime minister announced the country’s victory over Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.
