Banyuwangi Delegation Wins Best Seller At Malaysian Travel Fair 2017

BANYUWANGI, E.Java, Mar 21 (Antara) - Tourism promotion delegation from Banyuwangi, East Java province, Blutama Tours and Travel, has won the best seller at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2017 held on March 17 to 19 in Malaysia. "In terms of services and presentation of media promotion at the event, Banyuwangi was established as the Most Valuable Seller Indonesia Tourism Table Top 2017," Acting Head of Culture and Tourism Office of Banyuwangi, MY Bramuda, said when contacted by Antara here on Monday. Bramuda said the delegation held a direct promotion by a table top to attract foreign tourists. Banyuwangi regent Abdullah Azwar Anas said the award is important because it shows the standard of Indonesia's tourism industry which includes travel agents, airlines, cruises, hotels, resorts, governments, and tourism associations, particularly in Asia. "A winning at a major event like this show will boost tourism business in Banyuwangi and be able to meet global standards," Anas said. In 2017, the Indonesian Tourism Minister expects Malaysian tourists visit of 1.772 million, up from a target in 2016 of 1,225,458. "It's momentum for us to attract tourists from Malaysia, especially with our attractive destinations, such as the Ijen crater and national parks and a number of tourism festivals of Gandrung Sewu and fashion performances," Anas said.
