WEF Chairman conferred doctorate degree by Chulalongkorn University

BANGKOK, May 30 (TNA) - Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of World Economic Forum, has been awarded a doctorate honoris causa in Business by Chu-la-long-korn University. Professor Emeritus Khun-ying Suchada Kiranandana, Chairman of The Chulalongkorn University Council, conferred the degree to the WEF Chairman Wednesday, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to regional and global economy. ASEAN Secretariat Surin Pitsuwan, Deputy prime Finance and Minister of Finance Kittirat Na Ranong as well as Olarn Chaipravat President of the Thailand Trade Representatives were also at the ceremony to congratulate the WEF Chairman. Founded WEF organisation in 1971, Schwab has since published the global competitiveness report, an annual report which features economic records of 142 countries and has contributed to growth and increased level of competitiveness in many countries.
