Investment Consultative Council meeting held in TRNC

GIRNE (A.A) - November 27, 2011 - The 2nd meeting of Investment Consultative Council was held in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with participation of Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, TRNC President Dervis Eroglu and Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk on Saturday. A final declaration was issued at the meeting saying that there was need for a new economic program to be prepared by TRNC government covering the period between 2013 and 2015. TRNC President Eroglu said that measures were needed to overcome economic problems. Prime Minister Kucuk said they expected a 4 percent growth in 2011. Kucuk said that a new economic program would be started as of the beginning of 2012. Turkish Deputy Premier Atalay said Turkey-TRNC had a very special relationship and it was not based on interests. Atalay said that they attached a great importance to new economic program to be implemented in TRNC. Turkey would always stand by TRNC in all matters, he said. Later Atalay and Yildiz departed from TRNC.
