Turkish Red Crescent and Rescue Association send team to earthquake stricken Japan

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 11.03.2011 - Turkish Red Crescent Aid Society and Turkey's Search and Rescue Association (AKUT) have sent a three-member team to earthquake and tsunami stricken Japan on Friday.
Sinan Derindere and Gokhan Dilmac of the Turkish Red Crescent and AKUT's Murat Harun Ongoren have departed for Tokyo, Japan on board a Turkish Airlines passenger jet on Friday.
The three-member team will evaluate the situation in Japan and determine the materials urgently needed by the earthquake and tsunami victims.
The Turkish team will reach Japan around noon on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a five-member search and rescue team from the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH) will depart from Istanbul for Osaka city of Japan at late hours on Friday.
