TURKISH PRESIDENT GUL MEETS WITH HYUNDAI MOTOR CHAIRMAN

SEOUL (A.A) - 14.06.2010 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with the chairman of Hyundai Motor Co. in South Korea on Monday.
Gul's meeting with Hyundai Motor Co. Chairman Chung Mong-Koo at Lotte Hotel in Seoul was close to press.
After the meeting, Gul visited the War Memorial Museum and the National Museum in Seoul. 
Gul, who is the first ever Turkish President visiting South Korea after 28 years, arrived in capital Seoul accompanied by Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz, a group of deputies and businessmen as well as 6 Korean War veterans.
Holding a press conference at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport prior to his departure for Seoul, Gul said South Korea was Turkey's ally with which it had established strong ties despite a long distance. 
Noting he would hold talks in this country as the formal guest of his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak, Gul said political and economic relations between the two countries, as well as latest regional and international matters would be assessed during his visit.
