Turkish gvt prepares new action plan to fight unregistered economy
ANKARA (A.A) - 16.02.2011 - Turkish finance minister said on Wednesday that the government was preparing a new action plan to fight unregistered economy.
Mehmet Simsek said the government had introduced its first strategy to counter unregistered economy in 2008, and implemented 75 out of 109 steps.
"We have been 70 percent successful in taking action against unregistered economy," Simsek told a televised interview.
Simsek also said the new strategy, which could be considered as a road map, aimed to raise awareness about unregistered economy and to eliminate all factors encouraging unregistered economy.
