BURSA (A.A) - 01.04.2009 - Exports of what used to be described as the propelling force of Turkey's economy, the automotive sector, continued to fall for the sixth straight month, according to figures of a regional exporters' union.
Automotive exports plunged by 53.8 percent in January-March period down to as low as 3.73 billion USD as demand in European and Russian markets, the largest buyers for the Turkish automotive products, has continued to decline.
Turkey made the most exports to France in the first three months of 2009 with 508 million USD which was followed by Germany, Italy, Britain and Belgium.
