Thailand successfully develops new mineral extraction technology

BANGKOK, December 13 (TNA) - Thailand Institute of Science and Technological Research has successfully developed a technology for extracting minerals from seawater. Bangkok-based Thailand Institute of Science and Technological Research has claimed that the newly-developed technology is an achievement of its researchers, after nearly 10 years of their experimental study. The institute publicly announced that its research team has been successful in extracting over 70 kinds of minerals, acknowledging that the Thai research initiative will open a new chapter for humans to further benefit from seawater. The Thai technology, according to the institute, is of great future significance to support food production, cosmetics and medical industries, based on the discovery that 80 per cent of micro-elements on earth can be found in seawater. Minerals extracted from seawater were found to be better taken in by human bodies and procedures of extracting minerals do not involve acidulating and fermenting or exploiting any other kind of reagent.
