Foreign Ministry Wins Three IT Awards

JAKARTA, Nov 24 (Antara) - The Foreign Ministry has won three awards in the field of information technology (IT) from Itech Magazine. The awards consist of two Top IT & Telco 2016 awards in the Digital Transformation Preparedness and IT implementation category, and one award in the IT leadership category for Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi. "Thank you. May these awards encourage us to continue to improve our performance," Retno said while receiving the awards from the Top IT & Telco 2016 organizing committee here on Wednesday. She said the Foreign Ministry has made every effort to use IT t to conduct real-time diplomacy, particularly in monitoring the condition of Indonesian citizens abroad around the clock. "With IT, we can quickly detect all the problems faced by Indonesian citizens abroad," she said. Meanwhile, Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara said that by applying IT, all kinds of government services for the public can be realized more quickly and transparently and can be controlled easily. Chief of the Top IT & Telco 2016 organizing committee M Lutfi Handayani said the time has come for government agencies to manage their affairs by using information and communication technology to give optimum services to the public. Top IT & Telco 2016 was organized by Itech Magazine and supported by a number of associations, including the Indonesian Association of Telematic Consulting Firms (Aspekti), the Indonesian Association of IT Consultants (IKTII), the Indonesian Telematic Society (Mastel), All Indonesia Telecommunication Operators Association (Atsi), the Indonesian Association of Big Data (ABDI) and State-Owned Companies IT Forum (Forti).
