ISTANBUL (A.A) - 28.05.2010 - Turkey's leading airport operator, Tepe-Akfen-Vie Airports Holding (TAV), won the awards of Turkey's Investor Relations in five categories.
A statement by TAV said on Friday that TAV Airports Holding won the awards of "Best Investor Relations CEO", "Best Investor Relations CFO" and "Best Investor Relations Official" in Turkey's 2nd Investor Relations Awards organized by Thomson Reuters and Acclaro.
TAV Airports also won awards in the categories of investor relations web site and investor relations department.
M. Sani Sener, chairperson of the executive board of the TAV Airports Holding, said that Turkey's Investor Relations Awards indicated that Istanbul had become one of important financial centers in the world.
TAV is operating ten airports in Turkey, Georgia, Tunisia and Macedonia.
TAV terminals hosted 42 million passengers in 2009. The number of passengers in the airports operated by TAV increased 19 percent in the first quarter of 2010 when compared to the same period of 2009.
TAV was established in 1997, as a joint venture between Tepe and Akfen Groups following the bid for the Istanbul Ataturk Airport International Terminal Contract.
Istanbul Ataturk Airport is one of the first samples of the airport operating projects in the world with "build-operate-transfer" model.
