Spox congratulates Iranian women shining at Thailand 2023 championship
Tehran, IRNA – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani has congratulated the Iranian women's team on winning the silver medal at the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women's Asia and Oceania Championship in Thailand.
Such a silver is as valuable as any gold medal, Kanaani wrote on his Twitter page on Monday.
Their strong presence in the final match against the host country once again indicated the Iranian women’s culture, ethics, dignity and determination, the spokesman wrote.
At the competitions held in Bangkok, Iranian women easily beat India, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore, but narrowly lost the game against the host country.
The 2023 IIHF Women's Asia and Oceania Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand from April 30 to May 7.
