Wiranto Hopes Indonesian Athletes Win Sudirman Cup

JAKARTA, May 8 (Antara) - General chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Wiranto hoped the Indonesian squad can win the Sudirman cup tournament which will be held in Gold Coast, Australia from May 21 to 28, 2017. Wiranto expressed his hope when seeing off 20 players of the country's badminton team for the tournament on the occasion of 66th anniversary ceremony of the PBSI, here on Saturday. "I wish all of us work hard to restore the glory of Indonesian badminton," Wiranto stated in the ceremony held in Cipayung. According to him, all the shuttlers must do their best to reach the final round. Wiranto went on to say that the strength of the Indonesian players currently in the men's doubles and mixed doubles, but in other sectors (PBSI) wants to sharpen the young players' achievement who almost equalize the world class players. "Therefore, we are optimistic that we can keep pace with the global players, that's what I hope," according to Wiranto who is concurrently Coordinating Minister for Political, Law, and Security Affairs.
