Weightlifting Event of Arab Championships Start Today

Doha, May 27 (QNA) - Weightlifting events of the Arab Championships start Monday at the Al Sadd Sports Club. The opening ceremony programme includes cultural events that include multiple displays from Qatar folklore teams. The president of Asian and Arab Weightlifting Federations will deliver the opening speech, a Qatar Olympic Committee notification said today. Weightlifters in the men's section will compete in 50 kgs and 56 kgs in the morning session while women will compete in 44 kgs and 48 kgs in the evening. The weightlifting event has assembled here around 500 competitors representing 40 countries from the Arab region and Asia. (QNA)
