Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia national ice hockey team won a bronze medal in the Challenge Cup 2013 ice hockey tournament held March 16-24 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Involved in the "B" group, the national team of Mongolia defeated opponents from India, Macau and Singapore, and later was defeated by the Hong Kong team. At the semi-final, Mongolia has beat Thailand, advancing to the tournament for silver. At the silver medal contest, Mongolia has been defeated by Hong Kong. At the bronze medal match, our team beat Kuwaiti national team by scores of 11:0.
This year's tournament brought together national teams of ten countries such as Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
The Taipei team has won the Challenge Cup's gold medal, the silver medal went to Hong Kong. In addition, a member of the Mongolian team N.Mishigsuren has been named the top player of the tournament in assist leader category.

A sumo wrestler and Yokozuna title holder Hakuho Davaajargal Monkhbat became the winner of the spring tournament (Haru basho) of the highest division of professional sumo wrestling concluded last Sunday.
He has won this tournament without a lose, capturing the Emperor's Cup for the 24th time. Thus he is ranked 4th alongside Kitanoumi by the record of most career championships. By this record, he follows former Yokozunas Asashoryu (25), Chiyonofuji (31) and Taiho (32). He also has broken a record of the most undefeated championships.
His countryman Yokozuna Harumafuji D.Byambadorj finished the spring tournament with nine wins and six loses.

A referee of the Mongolian Basketball Association (MBA) B.Ganzorig has been qualified to work as a referee of the 2013 Summer Universiade which will take place July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia. The organizing committee of the Summer Universiade has sent a letter to the MBA requesting to send its referee.
The upcoming Summer Universiade is expected to attract 13,500 University athletes from over 170 countries, participating in 27 different summer sports. The Universiade is organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mongolia is to send some 250 athletes to the Summer Universiade.
