Sports Day Top-performer Entities to be Recognized Sunday

Doha, June 08 (QNA) - A recognition ceremony will be held tomorrow, Sunday to honor sponsors and partners of the Qatar Sports Day 2013 who contributed to its success through the different activities and programs. The ceremony will recognize sports federations that excelled in offering sports and social activities during the Sports Day whether those held at Qatar Olympic Committee's sports zone or elsewhere. Qatar Gymnastics Federation won the first place prize followed by Qatar Sailing and Rowing Federation in second and Qatar Basketball Federation in third. QOC Secretary General HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is set to attend the ceremony, which will also signal the launch of preparations for the third edition of the Sports Day. The Committee will welcome crowds to its sports zone on February 5, one week before the Sports Day, which comes on February 11. Officials from QOC, sports federations, clubs, and sponsors will also participate in the ceremony. (QNA)
