Showjumping season concludes

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): The Finale Season Showjumping and Dressage (taming) Championship was successfully concluded on Saturday, under the patronage of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and sponsorship of Dilmunia.
The two-day event was held on the field of the Military Sports Association in al-Raffah, Sakhir. A variety of the best junior and advanced riders of Bahrain took part in the championship.
Below are the results of different categories:
Rider Yehya Ahmed was able to win the first open contest (juniors and advanced), which included barriers height of 95 – 115 centimetres and course speed of 350 metres/minute. Yehya finished the course within 40.41 seconds on his steed "Horse Breedy".
The remaining two spots in the contest went to Sadiq Abbas and Salman Faraj respectively, scoring 44.55 and 45.20 seconds.
The first and second positions of the second open contest (juniors and advanced) went to Rider Ali Isa, who finished in 41.70 and 42.27 on two different steeds (Laveeno and F16). The contest included hurdles height of 120 – 130 centimetres height and course speed of 350 metres/minute. Rider Sami Ghazwan won the third place after finishing in 33.19 with 8 faults.
Rider Bassel Al Dossary won the third open contesters (juniors and advanced). The six-bar barriers in the contest were 105 – 115 centimtres. Al Dossary was followed by Ali Isa and Ahmed Mansoor, who finished in second and third places respectively.
The taming (dressage) contests witnessed strong competition. Steed Ameera was placed first in the adults contest, scoring 132.5 points. The second place went to the steed Duke with 128 points, while steed Nadia Tafitosca was placed third, scoring 126.5.
In the second adults contest, rider Meagan Black on the steed Dilmun Big was placed first with the score of 203.5 points. The second and third places went to riders Kia Garnafelt and Yasser Al Muraikhi respectively, scoring 187.5 and 184 points.
