Sharapova, Azarenka Reach Qatar Open Semis

Doha, February 15 (QNA) - World number one Victoria Azarenka and third-seeded Russian Maria Sharapova have both advanced to the semifinals of Qatar Open on Friday, beating the Italian Sara Errani and the Australian Samantha Stosur respectively. The Russian, who won the title twice before, will play either Serena Williams or Petra Kvitova in the semifinal, while Azarenka will face either Agnieszka Radwanska or Caroline Wozniacki. Sharapova beat former US Open champion Stosur 6-2, 6-4, continuing a good record against the Australian having defeated her 11 times out of 13 before today's clash. Title holder Belarusian Azarenka earned her spot in the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against the Italian No. 6 seed Errani. (QNA)
