Shaikh Nasser deputises Breef president to attend race

Manama, Jan. 15 (BNA): Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has deputised the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa to attend the 11th race of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, held at the club’s racecourse in Rafaa, Sakhir.
Seven rounds were held over the cups of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Shaikha Sheemah bint Naasser Al Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh SUltanuddin bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Southern Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa and horse racing fans attended.
Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid honoured the winners of the cups of Shaikh Nasser and his sons. He presented the trophies of the first and second races to Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the trophy of the third round to Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, the Director of the Royal Stables for Arabian Horses.
He also crowned the winners of the fourth round, owner Ibrahim Al-Afou, the fifth and sixth rounds, trainer Fawzi Nass, and the seventh round, owner Abdulrahman Al-Jasmi.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed delight at the successful organisation of the race, and commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Deputy Chairman HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to ensure the success of the race and develop horse racing in the kingdom.
Shaikh Nasser reiterated his full support to the efforts of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing to boost the horse racing sport in Bahrain, which, he said, helped riders achieve outstanding results in the kingdom and abroad.
He praised the advanced level of the exciting competitions during today’s races, and congratulated the winners.
