Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid to donate Triathlon's proceeds to Royal Fund for Martyrs of Duty

Manama, Apr. 28. (BNA) Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, with the participation of the First Deputy Chairman of SCYS and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Nasser Bin Hamad Foundation (NBHF) will organise the Fourth Olympic Triathlon. The Organising Committee said that the Triathlon is set to start on Saturday, at 7:00 AM, from Sofitel and it will consist of three parts which are: a 1.5km swim, a 40km cycling and a 10km run. Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid announced that the proceeds of their personal sponsoring companies of the Triathlon will go to Royal Fund for Martyrs of Duty in a gesture to reflect their loyalty. Shaikh Nasser affirmed the importance of the Triathlon, being one of the races that carry noble goals in supporting the Royal Fund for Martyrs of Duty, which confirms the link between sports and the community as well as serving the community activities. He stressed that sport is not a mere competition, but aims to support charitable events as well. He affirmed that races organised by NBHF contributed to spreading the concept of Triathlon in Bahrain, which is reflected through the increased number of participants lately, adding that the Triathlon will be suitable for all ages and nationalities. Shaikh Nasser expressed appreciation to sponsors for providing all factors of success, affirming that the Triathlon is one of the most important events organised by NBHF.
