Shaikh Khalid congratulated on MMA medal

Manama, July 15 (BNA): Ahmed Al Khayyat, Bahrain Self Defence Federation President, congratulated His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, founder of the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts "KHK MMA" Organisation, on the occasion of winning third place and being crowned with a bronze medal in the 57 kilogramme category of the third edition of the World Championship for Amateur Mixed Martial Arts, organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federations "IMMAF" in cooperation with the Ultimate Fighting Championship "UFC", held at the Conventions Centre alin Las Vegas, United States of America. Al Khayyat stressed that this achievement is the result of the outstanding efforts and keeness of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in providing the best means for the team to stand high and prove to the world that it is capable of achieving global accolades and honour the Kingdom of Bahrain. He pointed out that the team was a fine example in the World Championship displaying to the world that Bahrain’s participation is for winning medals and making achievements and not just a participant. He additionally praised the strategic plans the team is following according to the vision of HH Shaikh Khalid. Al Khayyat also said that this achievement provides great motivation for the local federations, giving them incentive ahead of the next championships, stressing that the sport of mixed martial arts has a promising future thanks to the unlimited support from His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, in providing the best support to all sports and games. He added that the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts achievement is an incentive for the Bahrain Self Defence Federation President to follows the steps of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and wished success to the Shaikh Kalid bin Hamad team on their upcoming championships. Al Khayyat also expressed his confidence in the team reaping more achievements for Bahrain.
