Research papers received for top award

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): The General Secretariat of this year’s edition of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports has recently received 30 research papers from participants from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq and host country Bahrain. General secretary of the award Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar said the last day to accept researches will be September 30, and that he was pleased with the significant interaction of the researchers from inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. Sayyar said the General Secretariat is continuing to receive applications for participation, advertising and promotion purpose for this year’s edition, while promoting the award at various locations and activates across the kingdom, such as the Bahrain International Airshow, the 17th Asian Handball Championship, Youth City 2030 and the Asian Sports Press Union congress. It is worth noting that the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports targets all experts, researchers and sports-related authorities aged between 18 and 25 years. Researchers category (Local, Arab), aged from 25 years and above with research in three areas – sports management, sports training and sports medicine. The award is organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and aims at promote positive attitudes towards scientific research to create knowledge and contribute to the development of sports movement. It is hoped to encourage experts and researchers, locally and regionally, to conduct applied scientific research to develop sports movement and improve the level of performance in all areas of sports. The winner in each part of the award will receive a certificate of appreciation, signed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, in addition to a cash prize and commemorative gift-bearing symbol of the award.
