QOC Sec-Gen Meets Mali Star Kanoute

Doha, June 06 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met Thursday with international football star Frederic Oumar Kanoute who is currently in Doha on a business trip. At the outset of the meeting, the QOC Secretary General welcomed the Malian international and former Sevilla, wishing him a pleasant stay in Qatar. Sheikh Saoud expressed his appreciation for the player's performances with his country and clubs as well as his humanitarian and charity efforts through the Kanoute Foundation. For his part, Kanoute thanked HE the QOC secretary general for the hospitality he received since his arrival in Doha, hailing the huge renaissance in Qatari sports on all fronts. Kanoute signed yesterday an agreement with Qatar Charity to supervise the Sakina project, one of Kanoute Foundation's projects in the player's homeland. QOC Public Relations and Marketing Director Faisal Saleh Al Mansouri attended the meeting along with Qatari sports media personality Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari who accompanied the player during the visit as Qatar Charity ambassador.
