Qatar Stars League Al Khor Beats Al Rayyan

Doha, January 28 (QNA) -- Al Khor continued their recent good run and recorded a valuable 1-0 victory over Al Rayyan in the closing day match of week 14 in the Qatar Stars League (QSL) at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium of Al Rayyan. Striker Julio Cesar struck on the hour mark after receiving Ibrahim Awal s through pass. The goal served as a lifeline for the Brazilian striker, who failed to impress since his arrival at Al Khor this winter as a replacement for former Polish international Smolarek. Al Rayyan s efforts to level were officially put to a halt after the sending off of midfielder Daniel Goma for receiving a second caution. Al Khor has now moved up to fifth place with 20 points to show for, while Al Rayyan stayed at fourth. (QNA)
