An initiative adopted by HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the NSD is observed every second Tuesday of February in Qatar. Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) NSD Head of Media and Communications Sheikh Hamad Abdulaziz J. Al Thani said stressed the importance of public participation and said the NSD Survey is crucial in receiving valuable information from citizens regarding the sporting activities they plan to do on February 12. "Qatar is one of few countries worldwide to dedicate a day for sports. The NSD is a great opportunity to promote Sport for All and help the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. Everyone is welcome to participate," he said. The electronic survey features questions ranging from sports activities practiced to favourite sports and encourages all to submit their suggestions.
