Qatar to Face Oman in Gulf Cup on Monday

Manama, January 06 (QNA) - Qatar national football team conducted their regular training session on Sunday in preparation to face Omani counterparts in the prestigious 21st Gulf Cup of Nations 2013 in Manama on Monday. In Sunday's training session, the team technical manager, the national team coach Paolo Autuori reviewed and tackled the mistakes that made the team suffered a shock 1-3 defeat at the hands of United Arab Emirates in the opening match held on Saturday. Autuori breathed a new spirit in the team members who positively showed strong determination to honor the country in the remaining matches in the group A. In an earlier statement Autuori said: "We had quite a few chances to score but we missed those opportunities. UAE's quick equalizer certainly missed with our concentration. "We hope we can still qualify," he said, adding "if we manage to beat Oman and Bahrain, tonight would just turn into an annoying memory". "We still have two matches to go and anything can happen. We have to close the UAE talk and look to the future, it all depends on how we respond and how quickly we can bounce back from this disappointing loss" he added. The Qatari national team is pooled in group (A) beside hosts Bahrain, UAE and Oman while Group (B) includes Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iraq. (QNA)
