Qatar Celebrate a Convincing Victory over Kuwait in Volleyball
Doha, December 14 (QNA) - Qatar remains at the top of Pool A in the men s volleyball competition at the 2011 Arab Games after its third consecutive victory, this time against Kuwait.
The last match of the fourth day at Al Rayyan Indood Hall was a spectacular show from both teams and delighted more than 1,000 fans who came to watch.
The key to the Qatar s domination was a big turnaround in the third set.
With the score 1-1, Kuwait was leading the third set 24-21. But its players failed to take advantage of four set balls and two blocks in a row by Qatar setter Saeed Al-Hatmi impressively gave them the set 29-27.
Qatar then strangled its opponents with an unbelievable 11-0 start to the fourth set, and the game was over.
Saudi Arabia didn t allow Palestine to have chance in their game and their coach had the chance to give playing time to all of his players.
In Pool A, Qatar is leading by nine points, Oman is second with four, Saudi Arabia is following by three, while Kuwait has two and Palestine none.
In Pool B Algeria and Egypt are tied with nine points, Tunisia is in third with five, followed by Bahrain with three, Iraq one, and Sudan none. (QNA)
