Qatar and Egypt's Al Ahly Clubs Sign Twinning Agreement

Doha, January 07 (QNA) - Al Ahly Football Clubs of Qatar and Egypt announced Saturday that they signed a club twinning agreement under which the two will exchange administrative and technical expertise, as well as the possibility of forming Al Ahly Academy in Cairo. Al Ahly club Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani and his Egyptian opposite number Hassan Hamdi signed the agreement today. The two exchanged shields and memorabilia after the signing. Hamdi expressed his happiness at being in Qatar, stressing on the importance of communication between Arab football clubs. He said that the next 10 days will formulate the mechanisms of the twinning agreement. Hamdi proposed holding an Arab club competitions for teams that carry the name "Al Ahly." There are more than 27 clubs across the Arab world that are called "Al Ahly." (QNA)
