Qatar’s Barshim Wins Silver Medal in Men's High Jump

Moscow, August 15 (QNA) - Qatar's Mutaz Essa Barshim won the silver medal in the men's high jump Thursday at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow. The Olympic bronze medalist Barshim earned the silver by clearing 2.38 on his first attempt, but failed in the two attempts he had left for the height. Bohdan Bondarenko of Ukraine won the gold medal, clearing 2.38. Bondarenko passed 2.44 after he had cleared 2.41 on his second attempt. Derek Drouin of Canada earned the bronze by also clearing 2.38. Reigning Olympic champion Ivan Ukhov of Russia finished fourth at 2.35. (QNA)
